On the same night the baseball players suffered a 5-0 loss to Coppell, they clinched the final playoff spot in district 9-6A with WT White falling to Lake Highlands.

After the Eagles split their two game series with WT White, it was clear the two teams would be in contention for the last playoff spot. However, after that series, their seasons both took a huge turn.

The Eagles started their season 1-5, meaning one loss could knock them out of the playoff race. However, the Eagles wouldn’t give in, winning six straight games while outscoring their opponents 41-6 in that time.

WT White, experienced an exact opposite to the Eagles’ season. They began their district play with a 5-1 record, looking safe for a playoff spot. However, poor offensive performances by the Longhorns led to six straight losses.

The Eagles will play their final regular season game against Coppell on Friday before the bi-district playoffs against 10-6A champion Rowlett.
