Meetings about the bond between administrators and construction workers are underway. The bond includes a revamping of the library, a multipurpose athletic facility, 21 new classrooms and four collaborative spaces which will include charging stations and casual seating.

“I’m most excited about creation of new state of the art facilities and the four flexible learning spaces outside of normal classrooms,” Principal Charles Bruner said.

The main building will be out of commission this summer so that it may be brought up to code with an all new sprinkler system. Builders will tie the framework of the initial building for the new additional wing.

The school is currently seeking bids for renovations of bathrooms. Teachers and parents have also approved architectural plans, which are also seeking bids.

The bond was approved after a vote in May by the citizens in the RISD area.
