Varsity volleyball beat Lake Highlands in a battle for second place in district 9-6A. Richardson won 3-1 behind junior Natalie Perdues’ 19 kills and senior Alex Sarathys’ career high 30 digs.

Despite beating Lake Highlands earlier in the season, Coach Eric Miracle wanted his team to stay focused,

“We have to let that game go,” Miracle said. “It’s been a long time and we are a different team.”

After losing a close first set 25-22, the Eagles rallied and won three straight sets 26-24, 25-20, 25-19.

Perdue, who recently became the leader in career kills and digs for RHS, said the win came from consistency.

“Getting the passes and running the offense like we usually do helped us,” Perdue said. “Perfecting everything because it’s an all-around game.”

The Eagles now sit in second place in 9-6A with a 4-1 district record. Up next is Pearce at home on Friday.
