Employers from all around the city crowded in the library to expose students to different career and internship opportunities during the second annual Richardson Career Fair.
“It showed me the different opportunities I have after I graduate high school,” junior Natnael Nigussie said. “Right now it’s showing me all the different career choices. I’m using this as an opportunity to talk to different people and see what my choices are.”
Students explored a variety of careers and had the opportunity to talk to employers from major companies like AT&T; and Studio Movie Grill for possible summer jobs and internships.
“It helped me in getting to know what I want to do in the future,” junior Omar Abbas said. “I looked at AT&T;, and they said they have really good internships and that if you work with them for a year while in college, they will pay for part of your education, and that’s really good.”
College counselor Jaslyn Greene said the fair helped students learn more about their interests and what they want to do in the future.
“A lot of the careers that are at the fair are fields that many of the students have interest in going into,” Greene said. “It’s important for the school to have a way of providing that opportunity to students.”
