The girls soccer season came to an end on Friday in a 2-0 loss to McKinney Boyd in the first round of playoffs.
“Although McKinney Boyd was a tough team, we put in a lot of effort and it was by far the best we played this year,” freshman Diana Sifuentes said .
The team held McKinney Boyd scoreless through the first half. Boyd eventually gained the lead in the second half and put two goals past the lady eagles.
“The game against McKinney Boyd was an outstanding game,” senior Qyara Winston said. “Even though we came up short, we fought to the finish and gave it our all.”
The girls said they played their best in the playoff game and are satisfied with how the season went.
“I was super impressed with how we played,” senior Katelyn Givens said. “I’m really proud of our accomplishments this season and couldn’t have been more happy to end my senior year with all these amazing girls.”
The lady eagles won the last five games leading up to their playoff game against Boyd. Many of the girls expressed their gratitude for making it to playoffs despite the loss.
“I’m so glad to have had the opportunity to play with such an awesome group of girls and go to playoffs as a freshman,” Sifuentes said.
