With a win over Lake Highlands on Halloween, the varsity volleyball team secured a playoff spot against McKinney Boyd at Wylie High School tonight at 7 p.m.
“Losing to Berkner was definitely a set-back,” senior player Julianna Washington said. “But we truly turned things around with our win against Lake Highlands and made it to playoffs.”
Coach Eric Miracle said the team is among the best in Richardson’s history, and he’s confident about tonights matchup.
“This is one of the strongest teams we’ve ever had,” Miracle said. “I feel better than ever for this game.”
With a win over Mckinney Boyd, the Eagles would advance to the Area Playoffs.
“It feels great getting to the playoffs,” senior Erin Terry said. “I feel like we have a good shot at making it past the first round.”
Senior Kara Marschewski said the players are working to transform their weaknesses into strengths as the playoff game approaches.
“Whenever we lose a couple of points we get really upset,” Marschewski said. “It’s hard for us to comeback, but we are working on it.“
