The computer science team competed at a tournament held by the University of Texas at Dallas this past Saturday. Out of 77 schools, the three Richardson teams got 8th, 13th and 14th place, tying with Pearce.
Senior Noel Negusse said it was a well-organized competition.
“We’ll do better next time,” Negusse said.
The computer science team solved 5 out of the total 7 problems.
“Even though we should’ve beaten Pearce, it was a very challenging competition, modeled around collegiate level problems,” sponsor Henry Vo said.
The intense competition encouraged several of the team members to compete more and devote more time to practice.
“Practice is the only way to do it, and like everything else, practice makes perfect,” Vo said.
