Varsity basketball player Averie Farrell prepares to make a shot in a game against Little Elm, not long before winning an award for her community service hours despite her rigorous basketball schedule. 
"Managing basketball and community service does get a little bit difficult, especially when we're in-season, but it's just like time management and thinking about doing both because they’re both a priority," Averie said.
Averie's commitment to community service as a varsity basketball player has been recognized by the 'Making a Difference On and Off the Field' campaign.
