The Golden Eagle Marching Band took to the streets surrounding the school for their annual March-A-Thon fundraiser on Saturday. The 190 members of the band marched five kilometers and entertained local supporters with private concerts.

“Community support is everything,” band director Jesus Marquez said. “But more importantly, representing the community well at every event.”

March-A-Thon accounts for one-third of the band’s fundraising. This year, the band earned over $21,000 with donations still coming in.

“This fundraiser is the reason we don’t spend over $1000 a year just to be in this program,” Freshmen Uchechi Aririele said. “Without it, I wouldn’t be in this band.”
