Hundreds of students lined up outside the cafeteria in the sweltering heat last Friday waiting for the AVID sponsored In-N-Out lunch. Approximately 700 tickets were sold to raise nearly $3500.

The money raised from the AVID fundraiser will help students with college testing and scholarships, as well as pay for AVID field trips and classroom supplies.

AVID teacher Elizabeth Brown said that it was important for AVID to make the most of this oppurtunity due to the school guidelines on food related fundraisers.

“For the school we have six dates for when we can host food fundraisers,” Brown said. “For In-N-Out we can only have two per year because it’s so popular.”

Brown hopes to be able to replicate the success of last year’s fundraisers.

“We were able to award two scholarships last year for the first time ever,” Brown said. “That was a really exciting thing for AVID.”
