Dressed in shredded checkered skirts and covered with stitches and the smell of death, senior Eaglette Ashley Eisenkramer danced to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” in the Halloween-themed Homecoming pep rally.
“I think the pep rally was really fun, it was fun not having to smile and just being really creepy and getting into the Halloween spirit and Homecoming,” Eisenkramer said. ‘It was just really exciting, and I loved performing hip-hop, and it was just really fun.”
On Halloween, the Homecoming pep rally showcased Richardson’s performance groups along with some special guests. The pep rally began with dances by the cheerleaders, Eaglettes and Desperados.
“There was lots of dancing, lots of zombies, some Thriller action – it was fun,” senior football player Robert Fisher said. “On Halloween, I love it – there’s so much hype for it.”
The pep rally also included performances by Legacy, Orchestra, Step Team, Hypematic, Xpress and Eagle Guard. Richardson’s dance teams hosted school alumni and dancers Zachary Keeling, Charlie Contreras and Hypematic founder Hampton ‘Exorcist’ Williams. Bowie Elementary jump rope students also participated in the pep rally.
“It was awesome – I really loved this pep rally,” senior Legacy member Griffin Camacho said. “It was so amazing how everyone pulled it together, and did an amazing job – a great way to end my senior year Homecoming.”
On Saturday, the Eaglettes will host the Homecoming dance with a DJ from 106.1 emceeing.
“We usually decorate the entire entrance, and inside the dance,” Eisenkramer said. “Then I’m going to the dance, and everyone should too. It should be fun.”
