The stands shook as students jumped and screamed at the school first Pep Rally. The theme – Eagle Dynasty.
The event included performances by cheerleaders, Eaglettes, Eagle Guard, Legacy, Step Dance Team, MBC and, as always, the band.
“I’m really pumped for today’s pep rally,” Senior Ty Meeks said. “We played a great game against Allen last year and I really hope for a repeat of that.”
Tonight the Eagles draw Allen, the number two team in the nation.
“Our kids are going to get a great challenge out of this ball game,” football coach Jason Gunter said. “Tonight’s game is going to be about getting prepared for district. Tonight, we’ll be giving Allen four quarters worth of a dogfight.”
Most agree that the game will tough, but English teacher Owen Nesbitt said there’s always hope.
“It’s Friday 13, so anything can happen,” Nesbitt said. We’re the ones that have no pressure on us, so I feel good about it. Go Eagles. Be early. Wear purple. Be proud.”
